Health means a state of mental, physical as well as emotional balance of the body. If these three aspects are balanced then it means that a person is healthy.
I would like to share my view about health, especially regarding women’s health. When people talk about women’s health they just mean about menstrual problems, pregnancy, hormonal issues, etc. Women live a strenuous life, as they have to manage their home, kids, office work, their social lives, etc. However, in an effort to maintain a balanced work and family life, taking care of the family’s health, they neglect their own health. Not only physical issues, stressful life causes a lot of mental issues as well.
Health issues like PCOD/PCOS, infertility, breast cancer, miscarriage, menopause, chronic non-reproductive health issues, osteoporosis, depression, anxiety, cyst, etc have become very common nowadays. The issue is more grave in rural areas, where there is not only a lack of awareness but a lack of medical facilities as well. Women never make their health a priority, they forget that they can only work and take care of others when their own body supports them.
1. Why is women's health important?
Women are the root that nourishes the whole family, until the root is strong, a tree cannot grow fully and flourish. So women need to be both physically and mentally healthy first for their own self and then for their family and society. Many women aren’t taught who to take care of their personal hygiene.
2. Most common diseases in women
Breast cancer, lung cancer, cervical cancer, pcod / pcos, pregnancy issue, menstruation pain, vaginal infection, breast lumps, other than that high blood pressure, diabetes, heart-related disease are also on rise among women due to stressful lifestyles.
According to the stats, there are only 2% of healthy humans present on Earth. Out of the 98% unhealthy population of the universe women tops the list.
In the year 1987, May 28th was declared as International Day of Action for Women’s Health or International Women’s Health Day. Since then each year this day is celebrated by women and health groups.
The main objective of this day is to raise awareness on the issues related to women’s health and well-being. The duty to raise awareness about women’s health lies with each one of us.
